Hey katrina, your comment brings to mind the words of Paul in Romans 7:7-25, summed up in verse 25 with "So then, I myself in my mind am a slave to God's law, but in the sinful nature a slave to the law of sin." Is that not so true? The constant battle between body and mind. Just as we lean towards rebellion against God when His law is shown to us, I think we often also lean towards rebellion against worldly authority and "the majority rules" for the same reasons. We struggle with wanting to feel that we have made our own decisions and that our successes and good choices are our own. If only more people knew the freedom that comes with giving God the authority over our choices - trusting His authority - trusting His knowledge of greater things and the "big picture", you know? The coolest thing is, His Spirit in us actually makes these things "our" decisions, too - but only by His grace.
So here's a topic my sister suggested...moving beyond stigma. How do Christians, knowing they're forgiven for previous sins/bad relationships/bad choices move beyond the stigma that a whole group, town, youth group, etc. may have for you (the "black sheep")?
